REPEAT PATTERN SCREEN PRINTING ON FABRIC

Natural colours are in a class of their own, their beauty has kept them alive and in use by many artisans since their commercial demise over 150 years ago.

On this 2-day workshop Nicola Cliffe from Madder Cutch & Co, will be showing you how to master the art and chemistry of making your own prints using plant materials foraged and saved from waste. Learn to extract colours from plant materials. Print with your colours using both linocut and screen print methods. Learn to use mordants for cellulose fabrics and how make a dye bath.

Reading pattern can be complex, but making patterns is actually easy if you know where to start. On this course we will look at works of famous and renowned pattern designers to help understand some simple elements of designing repeats.

On this 2-day workshop Nicola Cliffe from Madder Cutch & Co, will be showing you how to transform your own inspired design into a pattern repeat and screen print onto a fabric. Learn to screen print onto fabric using paper stencils and exposed screens.
